Damian Alexander Dubel Hosts Fourth Finalist Showcase of the 2025 Dubel Prize

In April, The Other House Private Members Club in South Kensington opened its doors to celebrate the work of Sinatra Zantout, one of the standout finalists for the 2025 Dubel Prize. The evening brought together over 200 guests for an inspiring mix of art, conversation, and community — all in honor of an artist whose work continues to challenge, uplift, and engage.

A Powerful Voice in Contemporary Art

Sinatra Zantout is a Lebanese-Nigerian painter and photographer based in London, whose creative practice draws from her dual heritage and a deep commitment to telling the stories of women of color in underserved communities. Her work is emotionally charged, layered, and socially driven — often centered around themes of motherhood, resilience, and the pursuit of dignity in the face of hardship.

Raised between Nigeria and Lebanon, Zantout brings a global perspective to her work, capturing the complexities of cultural identity and the quiet strength of women navigating difficult circumstances.

A Night to Remember

The event was more than just an exhibition — it was a celebration of storytelling through art. Guests heard moving speeches from Naomi Heaton, founder of The Other House; Sally Orlopp, Director at Centrepoint (the Dubel Prize’s charity partner); and from Zantout herself, who offered rare insights into the real-life experiences and inspirations behind her work.

The evening transitioned into a lively reception with a DJ set and signature cocktails, allowing guests to connect, reflect, and enjoy the elegant surroundings of The Other House.

Art With Purpose

Also in attendance was Damian Alexander Dubel, founder of the Dubel Prize, whose presence reinforced the Prize’s commitment to championing emerging voices in contemporary art. Zantout’s nomination reflects the Prize’s mission to highlight work that pushes boundaries — not just in technique, but in meaning and social relevance.

Her art is a testament to the power of visual storytelling, giving voice to those too often overlooked and challenging audiences to think beyond the canvas.

About the Dubel Prize

The Dubel Prize is a prestigious annual award that honours exceptional emerging British artists whose work is shown in the UK or internationally. Each year, ten finalists are selected to participate in exclusive showcases, offering them visibility, support, and a platform to connect with industry leaders. At year’s end, a respected jury of curators, critics, and cultural figures selects the Emerging Artist of the Year. More than a competition, the Dubel Prize is a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the future of British art — with a strong focus on supporting artists beyond the prize itself.

Stay tuned as we move closer to announcing this year’s winner. Until then, we celebrate Sinatra Zantout, a finalist whose voice and vision continue to leave a profound impact.
